Gone Fishing

A couple weekends ago we went deep sea fishing. For me (Tanya) this was the first time that I had ever fished! It was amazing. Every time we put the line in the water we would get bites. A group of 6 of us went and Scott caught the most fish by far. We have so many fish we had to freeze them and I am not sure how we are going to eat them all. I think we caught about 60 all together. Funny how no one else wanted to take them home...

In other news we went mountain biking last weekend and discoved this really cool coffee shop. We are also planning a trip in April with my parents to Namibia, Botswana, and Victoria Falls. This should be a great trip and we are all very excited.

If you happen to see the movie Blood Diamond you will see the area where we live. Although the movie is supposed to take place in Sierra Leone, it was actually filmed a few miles from our home in the Umtamvuna Gorge. The last 45 min. when Leo has the diamond is this place exactly. In fact, many of the extras in the movie are from Bizana where I work.

Gee, I hope these fish are edible for I can think of no good reason others would not have wanted some. Mamau was a whizz at gutting and cleaning fish. Too bad those experiences and info didn't get passed along!

Hi Tanya and Scott,
Sounds like you need to have a fish barbecue!

I saw Tanya's mom at the Community Arts Party and she passed your blog on to me.

Can't wait to share your animal pictures with the kids. My son wants to be a wildlife warden when he grows up. Well, what he actually said was that he wants to carry a big gun and shoot anyone who hurts baby cheetahs. I took that to mean "wildlife warden".

Anyhow, take care. We are always thinking of you.

Sara

Hey!

Sara passed the link along to me. So cool! I'm having a hard time believig those wildlife photos weren't copied and pasted off of the National Geographic website. Also, are you allowed to criticize the UN in print?
Anyway, looking forward to keeping up with what you guys are doing...keep posting!

xoxo
